Yvonne is a ray of sunshine at
FOCUS! Her bubbly personality
and spirited nature are fun to be around, and both kids and staff are
drawn to her. It is very
clear when you meet Yvonne that she is someone who is very compassionate,
positive, and loyal. In
seeing how dedicated Yvonne is to her husband and two daughters, anyone
can also sense how that dedication spills over to anyone or anything that
matters in Yvonne's life. At
FOCUS, we feel that love and loyalty, too.
In Yvonne's hands, FOCUS is well cared for!
Tracing back to her undergraduate
major in psychology, Yvonne has had a good deal of experience working in
psychiatric settings. She
worked with emotionally disturbed kids in residential settings such as
Elmcrest and Curtis Home. Later
on, she joined Donna Swanson and Steve Polesel in the early days of FOCUS
Child and Family Center as a co-leader of Girls' and Boys' Groups. In her experiences, Yvonne has shown a wealth of compassion,
understanding and enthusiasm.
In her work at FOCUS, Yvonne is the
first face that new families meet upon touring the program.
As the Intake Coordinator, Yvonne introduces families to the
programs that FOCUS offers and conducts initial interviews to evaluate
appropriateness for the programs. With
her powerful organizational skills, Yvonne makes sure that treatment plans
are filed on time, that phone messages are returned in a timely fashion,
and that fundraising occurs on a schedule.
Yvonne is a strong player on the
FOCUS team! People are
initially taken in by her sunny disposition, and it is only after seeing
how much she does that they realize how valuable she is to the program. |
