leisure skills utilizing structured activities as well as ordinary daily living
situations as tools for learning. A

FOCUS Recreation Program offers a diverse program to meet these goals.
Program activities include: planned
activities & games small
group work ongoing
community service
projects animal
care gardening noncompetitive
sports cooking field
trips The
kids are an integral part of helping to plan activities and have the opportunity
to discuss personal issues of behavior and relationship within the group and are
given feedback on their own behavior by staff and peers.
FOCUS Recreation Program For kids ages 6-18 yo Daily 3:00 p.m.
- 6:00 p.m. Runs through the academic school year Daily
Program Schedule 3:00 - 3:30 check in, chores & goal setting 3:00 - 4:30 afternoon activities and snack 4:00 - 4:45 group activity 5:00 - 6:00 wrap-up & free time The
FOCUS Recreation Program is open to children ages 6-18. In addition, there is a
Counselor-In Training (CIT) program for 14-18 year olds and an Intern program
for kids 16-18 years old to apply for. CIT's and Interns have the added
opportunity and responsibility of being able to work (under staff supervision)
with the younger children. This
experience has proven invaluable for the growth of some adolescents as they
begin to shape their lives.
