The FOCUS Summer Program is a clinical “Socialization Immersion” program that utilizes structured activities as well as ordinary daily living situations as tools for learning. It is designed to teach children coping and relationship skills.  It is a six week program that operates from 9:00am to 4:00pm with options for extended morning and afternoon slots.

 

A safe and realistic approach is taken to:

Teach children how to establish and maintain healthy relationships

 Build confidence and critical life skills

Develop respect for self and others

bullet

Take responsibility for their actions both as individuals and as a group

The FOCUS Summer Program Offers Diverse Activities:

Planned activities and games

Arts and crafts

Animal care

Noncompetitive sports and Wilderness programs

bullet

Field trips and backyard games

bullet

Swimming  


The FOCUS Summer Program is open to children ages 5-18.  In addition, there is a Counselor-In Training (CIT) program for 14 to 18 year olds. CIT’s have the added responsibility of being able to work (under staff supervision) with the younger children. Internships are also available for children over 18.

Daily Program Schedule  

8:00 - 9:00

 extended care (additional cost)  
9:00 - 9:30 morning check-in meeting
9:30 - 11:30 morning activities
11:30 - 1:00 lunch, clean up  
1:00 - 3:00 afternoon activities  
3:00 - 3:30 afternoon wrap-up  
3:30 - 4:00 free time, pick up  
4:00 - 5:00 extended care (additional cost)
